Two days after showing the recruiting world that Auburn was for real, Gene Chizik was back at it, picking up his second commitment for 2011. A day after adding former Auburn signee Izauea Lanier, who spent the season at East Mississippi Community College, the Tigers added Spencer Region, an offensive lineman with an interesting story to tell. |

5-19, to most of the country those numbers mean nothing. To the SEC, it was Gene Chizik's record for his first two years as a head coach while at Iowa State. Gene Chizik, Auburn's defensive coordinator during its perfect season in 2004, was quickly swept away after that season to the Longhorn state where he coached at the University of Texas under Mack Brown. |

To start getting the ball rolling with the 2011 Recruiting Info, I want to discuss some recruits that will be coming from Auburn’s Pipeline states. As Chizik and Co. proved this year, they can get top recruits from any state that they want to, but it would be nearly impossible to place every recruit on Auburn’s board in this article. |

 February 3rd, 2010 won’t go down in infamy and be written about in Auburn University record books. You probably won’t ever see that date in an Auburn media guide to be recorded and treasured throughout Auburn history. But the fact of the matter is, Gene Chizik and his assistant coaches made history on this date. On February 3rd, 2010 Auburn signed arguably the best and highest rated recruiting class in its rich history. |
